Dowload for 8.00.2162?

I've been trying to download the cumulative hotfix in article 904660 (patches
to build 8.00.2162). However, the link on the page is not fiding the file to
download:

Does anyone know where I can download the 904660 cumulative patch? Thanks!
Hotfix 2162 has been removed.
A cumulative hotfix package is available for SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4
build 2162

|||Thanks, Geoff. Unfortunately, the link you provided is the same one I'm
trying to use. It leads to a page with the following message: "The download
you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying
to access this download, go to the "Search for a Download" area on the
Download Center home page." I can't find it anywhere else. I guess I simply
need to stop pursuing it.

Doubt with Client Network Utility

Hi. I've been worling with Ms SQL Server 7 / 2000 and on every installation
I've done, after installing the Server I had to Install Connectivity Only on
Clients in order to configure Client Network Utility to add the Server
Alias.
Does MSDE have an option like this ? Does MSDE Needs a Client Network
Utility on a Client PC?

MDAC installs the Client Network Utility (cliconfg.exe) as well... and it's
usually required from all apps... =;-)

Domains in SQL Server?

Hello all,
I've worked mostly with FirebirdSQL and Firebird has a nifty little
feature called "domains" which are basically pre-defined field types
which can included native field type (int, varchar, etc), constraints,
etc. Instead of defining an Int field with a default value of zero
that must be between 1 and 100000 everytime you need that kind of
field, you can just create that domain and assign that domain as a
field/column type when created a table.
This is a time saver as well as making data types standardized in my
database.
Is there an equivelant in SQL Server?

You will need to bind a rule to your UDDT with the syntax "CREATE RULE" to
fully implement what you're after

|||But you should be aware that Default and Rule objects (they you tie to user defined datatypes, or
"alias datatypes" as they are called in 2005) are deprecated in 2005. This means that Default and
Rule objects will be removed in some future version of SQL Server (in favor for Constraints).

Domain administrator password change

Hi folks. Sorry if this one's a bit basic, but I'm a SQL 2000 novice.
I've just taken over responsability for some servers and I need to
change the domain administrator password.
I was wondering if changing this will have any adverse affects on SQL.
The SQL server is a domain controller. Only the SQLSERVERAGENT service
uses the administrator account.
Will I have any problems "internal" to SQL after the password is changed?

After the change you need to change the password for SQLServer Agent with
new password.
How to change the startup account:-
1. Control Panel - Admin tools -- Services
2. Double click above the SQLSERVERAGENT service
3. In the Log on tab, change the OS user name and enter the password, Click
ok and restart the service.

I don't know about the 2005 version, but in Visio for Enterprise
Architects (I believe the version I'm running came with VS.NET 2003), under
the "Database" toolbar, there are options "Update", "Generate", and "Reverse
Engineer" that handle that functionality.

I'm not familiar with those objects in Oracle, but if in SQL Server 2005 you want to use these in a query or proc, you need to lookup table variables, temp tables, or new to 2005 common table expressions.
